The lean management program at the Chemical Industry Zhonghao Chenguang Research Institute, characterized by 6S/CTPM, has entered its 3rd Phase — inspection, approval, and bringing changes to the institute.
The effort began with research institute executives escorting inspectors to 30 production units and departments for an on-the-spot check, on Aug 23. The inspectors said they were impressed by the clear signs, tidy storage units, uniforms, rules prominently posted on walls, and standard production procedures.
The research institute cooperated with the Shenzhen CTPM Enterprise Management Advisory Co and BMGI in introducing the CTPM lean management system, back in May, to improve the management level, overall employee quality, and competitiveness. The research institute has held 6S training courses and 3S practice events and has publicized 6S management rules.
For the following two months, employees attempted to bring fundamental changes to the institute, making production sites more orderly, tidy, and clean. So, the program has greatly improved the research institute’s production and, in spite of the flooding, mudslides, and high temperatures in July and August, the institute did extraordinarily well in its safety, production and marketing.
